Easy tips to help save the Earth
Being a friend to the environment is the latest
trend, and for good reason. You’ve probably seen
helpful hints everywhere, so we’ll skip the obvious
ones and give you a few you may not have heard
before. See the bottom footnote for more. Remember,

2. RECYCLE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE!
batteries and other electronics can be recycled
and even refurbished. You can get refurbished
electronics for a steal (they often sell for less
than 50 percent of the retail price!), and before
they’re resold to the public, they go through an
intense defect-testing process and the warranties
usually remain intact. So you can save money and
help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
3. GET OFF JUNK MAIL LISTS
GreenDimes can get you started. They’ll even

5. BE WATER CONSCIOUS
Wash your clothes in cold water. By using cold water
instead of warm, you can avoid emitting carbon
dioxide and save on energy bills. Take shorter or
more conservative showers by turning off the water
while lathering up. Turn off the water while you
brush your teeth.
